Howard City Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 7:30 pm at the Howard City Office 110 N Pine. Dates may be rescheduled as needed
Your City bills can be paid from your bank account on the 10th of every month. There is no charge for this service. We must have a signed form on file. You will still get a copy of your bill as usual. Call or come in the office for details!
Please remember that our city gas and water meters are read near the 15th of each month, so your bill due Sept 10 is paying for your utilities from about the 16th of July to the 15th of August.
We are receiving an increase in reports of dogs running loose. Dogs will be impounded and we have to follow all the State required steps to get them released.
City of Howard recently received notice that we are approved for the Spring 2021 IKE Cost Share Program.
With summer, comes great times outdoors, but safety is important. ATVs UTVs and Golf Carts are allowed on the City of Howard streets & alleys, but there are restrictions:
Lake permits may now be purchased at Allen’s Liquor as well at the City Office.
Dog tags are due April 01 each year and are $5 for altered dogs, $10 for unaltered. After April 30, there is a $10 late fee per tag, so altered dogs are now $15 and unaltered $20. All dogs over 6 months old are to be licensed annually with the City, and that requires a licensed veterinarian certificate showing proof of current rabies vaccination and spay/neuter status.
